Mary enjoyed Round 2 of Thanksgiving yesterday, visiting Cousin Ryan (and all those other Pierces) down in Rhode Island. A couple people are making their Pierce family blog debut: Aunt Leanne (Ryan's mom) and Aunt Karen (Danny's sister). We'll finish up with a few cute ones of Mary. Hey, it's her blog, after all.

Mary's First Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! Mary celebrated her first thanksgiving today down (or up, depending on your location when you read this) in Connecticut with my family. It was a big day, that started with a 5k Turkey Trot in Mystic, which we forgot to document with pictures. Danny and Lisa strike again!
Lisa was really excited about Mary's Thanksgiving outfit.

Here is Mary sitting in our family rocking chair. She's actually the 6th generation from my family to sit in it, originally belonging to Mary's great-great-great-grandmother. Yeah, it's about 100 years old and still going strong.

After dessert, Mary got to hang out a bit with her grandmother and Granny. She also discovered the joy of the most simple toys- a paper bag and a pot.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did!

My Wife Took My Daughter on Vacation, and All I Have Are These Pictures
We often try to have a theme for a post: playing in the leaves, going to a park, visiting family, etc. This post's theme is: Lisa and Mary left me for the weekend so I've been left to fend for myself. You're probably thinking I'm referring to food (and you'd be partially right), but that also applies to Mary time. So, I've picked out a few pics with little-to-no connection to each other that probably won't end up in another post anytime soon.
The first two are from time hanging out on her blanket (thanks, Aunt Kim!). The second of these is from when Aunt Karen and I were trying to get her to crawl. You can probably tell by the expression on her face how well that went over.

The next one was taken by my mother (note: we need to come up with a "grandma" name for my mother, suggestions wanted) when we were at Cousin Ryan's house a few weeks back.

The last two are just a couple of my favorites.

at the park
We have a park down the street from our house. We haven't be there too much (since Mary doesn't do much moving and "playing"), but we did go on a little walk and we tried out the big kid swing... it's actually the baby swing, but it's bigger than the one she has at home. I think her favorite thing about the swing is the fact that we are there talking to her each time she comes our way. It's fun.

And, here she is modeling the cute new purple dress from Mimi. Thanks, Mimi!

sweet potatoes
Mary started solids a few weeks ago. She seems to really like it, especially the bananas. She eats sweet potatoes a lot... like here.
Sometimes she is very neat while eating....

and, sometimes she is NOT!!!

She does this new thing we call "dancing". It is SO cute! She usually starts with her head going back and forth, often times getting her entire little chubby body into it. We love it.... except when she is eating. She gets pretty excited about her food and her head goes back and forth making it a little difficult to get it in her mouth. These aren't the cutest pictures of our little girl, but we all have our rough days.
